Hello and Hi Everyone :)

Just got my annual report from Scottish Power about my electricity/gas consumption..And because my contract ends 31st of Dec 2013 I have an option to switch or pick one of their offers...To be honest I've never watched at unit price, charges etc.....just paid my bills as I thought there is no big difference between companies:mad: ( I know----Idiot)....but now, when Im able to switch I decided to do it in proper way.... :)... So I started looking at my unit prices, advantages of dual fuel offers etc....
Currently Im on Capped Price Energy January 2014 offer....and after small research I realized something is wrong!!!!......I googled my price plan and found out prices given me by Scottish Power are to high (like from different plan)!!!!!!!!
I decided, I need an advice what to do (whether Im wrong or not) with my current plan, and which new offer suits me most....SO Please help me out (bow)....

My current plan (according to report) is:
Capped Price Energy January 2014,
but when I log into my online account it says:
Dual Fuel Capped Price Energy January 2014 V2  (is it a difference??)

1 From report sent to me by post:
(inc. 5% VAT)
Electricity:
Daily Service Charge 35,94p
All/Day units kWh 13,305p
Gas:
Daily Service Charge 35,94p
All/Day units kWh 4.131p

2. From my last online bill:
(exc. VAT)
Electricity:
Daily Service Charge 39.45p
All/Day units kWh 12,671p
Gas:
Daily Service Charge 39.45p
All/Day units kWh 3,934p

Phoned Scottish Power CS and was told prices for My plan should be:
(Exc. VAT)
Electricity:
Daily Service Charge 31,78p
All/Day units kWh 11,244p
Gas:
Daily Service Charge 34,23p
All/Day units kWh 3,545p

My Annual usage:
5.332 kWh of electricity
11,976 kWh of gas

Could one of experts tell me whether or not I have correct price units on my bill? and according to my usage PLEASE help me choose new plan for me.

ps.
Wanted to post screenshots here so You could see clearly what I mean, but as new user Im not allowed yet :(

Thanks in advance
Adrian

Firstly, what supply area are you in? Any helper will need to know as prices vary accordingly.

You seem to be paying a hell of a lot for leccy - even their cheapest one is high compared to what I've been paying. I've just come off a fixed SP contract and wasn't paying anywhere near that (about 9.9p a unit and 20p a day standing charge).

Even my new contract with First Utility is only 11.053p a kw with a 21.021p a day standing charge until April 2015 doesn't come close and would save you nearly £50 a year

I don't know what gas cost because we don't use it but I'm sure you could do better

I live in Croydon (CR0 3xx), so I believe my area code is 19 (Seaboard)....
Prices as far as Im concerned for that area are:
    Electricity:
    33.37
    11.806
    Gas:
    35.94
    3.772
    All inc. VAT

    Correct me if Im wrong.....
    Thanks for Your reply.....

I recently received a letter from Scottish Power as they fell foul of Ofgem and have a compensation fund for mis-selling between January 2009 and January 2012. Details here. I took out a contract with them in this period.
I'm not sure if you took out your contract between these dates, Adrian, but you may want to take a look. I looked at this thread because I wondered if it referred to this issue. Good luck with getting it sorted.
