Yes they are not allowed to change that so if it went back on it would come off again then.

Thanks again, you've been a great help.

Just one more thing though, if I make an offer to the CCJ and its accepted will this be marked as satisfied without resetting the date? And will this then stop the other company chasing me for the same debt but as the default?

Thanks for your info Rizla King

It is very common knowledge that is how credit reference agencies work, you dont think they provide free information, buy and install computer servers and call centre staff for the good of people who can not pay their bills do you. :rotfl:

It is all in the terms and conditions.
The account will now be flagged and any updated details will be visible to collecting companies.
With a live CCJ for £1700 and interest at 8% per annum, they will be no end of debt firms trying to purchase the file, they can have bailiffs to the address out within 14 days.
Unless the OP used an old address, then they wont know where to collect it.
But yes, credit checking companies do sell new details of defaulters to debt collectors, this is because they are a businesses and there to make money.

This may come as a shock, but when you owe money and are "on the run" Curiosity can kill the cat.

    Hi Spacey,
    Thanks for you info.

The CCJ is due to drop off in November next year, and since having it I havent heard nothing from the creditors, I didn't even know that I had the CCJ until I purchased my credit file and I'd moved house by then. As I'm sure it was for the same debt as the default I haven't bothered to contact the court to try get it set aside, I've been told that the CCJ is too old for them to consider... is this correct as it is now 5 year and 1 month old? I have no papers ever sent to my address stating that I would be getting a CCJ but the debt would have been in my old address and I failed to notify them, so would this be my fault therefor the judge would rule against me?

If I wait 11 months and still haven't heard anything then will the CCJ be wiped from my credit file whether paid or not? And can anyone else chasing it enforce another default or CCJ against me?

    Thanks again for your help.
