Is this normal for Hermes when delivering a parcel? We haven't been out and no one has knocked on the door, except the meter reader.

From the times, 19:48 and 18:51, looks like the courier simply ran out of time on those days.0

At this time of year, yeah, perfectly normal.
I say this as someone who used to work in a recruitment agency dealing with driving & industrial temps and we'd get complaints from both sides - drivers complaining they were expected to do 120+ drops in 8 hours and delivery firms complaining that our temps hadn't done that.We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

Extra loads on couriers and extra staff brought in who are unfamiliar with the route will cause delays. No matter how much training you give someone it will take time for them to get used to the route and the process of delivering each parcel. An experienced Hermes courier may do around 20 parcels in an hour and that is because he or she will know their area and their customers. That equates to a parcel every 3 mins. You must also take into account that Hermes courier use their own vehicles and in a lot of cases the size of the boxes have increased meaning that areas are having to be done in multiple trips because they just cannot fit everything in in one go. Most Hermes couriers are NOT van owners.0
