I am affronted to say that I misunderstood, and thought it was okay if accompanied by an adult.!!

Well, what did you all think of it?
We where at the evening show which was delayed by about 2 hrs!!!
We did get soaked queueing for the tickets but that was all part of the experience:D
We were very disappointed that out of about 15 acts, only 2 where from Norn Iron:eek:
Where was all the local talent?
Most of the acts where from the South!!!
Was a bit disappointed about the lack of variety of acts too,the majority where singers-I thought that's what the X-factor was for?!
However the night was made for us when my OH was called down to get one of David Walliams books signed for our daughter who just loves his books:T
    Overall an enjoyable,if long,evening.

    Overall an enjoyable,if long,evening.

We were at the afternoon session, arrived at 10:20 and queued about 20 mins in the rain for the tickets. A group of four ladies lent us one of their umbrellas which was really nice of them. We were told to come back "no earlier that one o'clock", which seems to fit in with what was said on the e-ticket, doors open at 13:00, close at 13:30. We arrived back for 13:00 pretty much on the dot and joined a long queue - to be told about 13:30 the doors wouldnt be opened until 14:00 as the judges had to arrive first.

It seemed that the production company like a massive turnout for when the judges roll up in their cars, so they kept us all outside waiting. David Walliams arrived about 14:00, then then Amanda, then Alicia, then Ant and Dec, then Stephen Mulhern about 15:10. In the meantime we were all standing in the pouring rain.

There was a lot of frustration in the queue and someone asked one of the Applause staff why we were all told to be there for 13:00 and then kept standing in the rain for over two hours to which she got the response "well if you dont like it noones forcing you to stand there, we have other people waiting for your seats", which really wasnt the point and a terrible attitude.

Stephen Mulhern tried to do a recording of him outside and then walking in to cheers but the crowd started chanting "we want in", so i think the TV crew gave up :D

We finally got in just after 15:30 and just before Simon Cowell arrived. I think they had let some of us in, as they were aiming to start at 16:00 (though the tickets said show starts at 15:00). Everyone was totally soaked but once we were in everyone soon forgot. Show started about 16:00, 14 acts in all, 10 minute break in recording.

Yes, 10 out of the 14 acts were from the south - there seemed to have been auditions both in the south in dublin and in the north previously, before the live auditions in Belfast.

3 irish dance acts, 2 dance acts, a "comedian" (awful), an impersonator (awful), a novelty singing act (singing with her mouth closed), then the rest were singing acts

Was scheduled to finish at 17:45 but i think it was well after seven before we got out.

Overall a great day, and not as contrived as we thought it would have been.

We didn't get out until about 00.15:eek:
Quite a few people left early,so they had to move people from the balconies down,to fill the empty seats on the ground floor:rotfl:

Yes that was happening in the afternoon show too - though probably not to the extent it probably did in an evening show running late.

Question to the people who have been. How strict were they on the age limit for audience members? It says 16+ on the website and I was hoping to take my 14yr old brother but if they are checking ID I won't bother going. (he is very well behaved btw!)

We didn't see anyone being asked for I.D.
They only checked the tickets to make sure all the group was there.
We did see several kids who were well under 16 getting in,although I wouldn't want to risk it an be disappointed.
Also, they compere guy is quite blue,so if your brother is easily offended, beware;)

4 of us went down to the evening show. We saw the tail end of the afternoon queuing farce but got our tickets after and hour and a half's que and were told to come back at 730 instead of 6.

Despite being at the front of the que for first come first serve tickets we ended up on the balcony block f? At least the view was good and they didn't film ppl on the balconly so that was a plus.

There were 17 acts approx. Some guy playing the spoons a drum band, a magician about 3 groups and loads of singers oh and a bed of nails mermaid bloke??

Best act of the night (judging by audience reaction) was a guy from coleraine singing an Andrew lyod Webber number.

Judges were pretty whitty but difficult to hear and the crowd warmup dude was pretty entertaining. Only saw ant and DEC at the opening 'entering of the judges fanfaire'.

The last train was at 11 but we opted to stay and get a taxi home at 40 quid which is a pretty good indication of how much we were enjoying the show.

We left at 1215 but they were starting to refilm an earlier act due to sound issues.

Would go again if we can get tickets next year.

Thankyou OP for posting this we wouldn't have got otherwise.
  • we had tickets for the evening showing but wanted to see what the queue for the afternoon show was like, so waited and saw the judges arrive.
After that we started queuing for the tickets.
To which a rude female staff member of applause store exclaimed - why was there a queue forming? The same staff member later was walking round telling people not to queue but go away - even though it was the time we had been told to come back earlier!

Show was good - although again acts from RoI the majority.
I'm also sure that a few of the acts were planted there by BGT (boyband & guy group with piano).
Terrible act with the nail board and the dancing puppet guy planted too.

But all in all good nights entertainment.
Just a shame people had to get up to head home during show.

Also with ticket issue - I think younger/'target' audience were given tickets to the front rows behind judges on purpose. we were near front of queue also but given tickets to block f too.
That policy went well - after many times audience behind judges told to take chewing gum out!!
