Black light

Has anyone sourced a black light that really detects animal urine ? I've looked at lots of reviews on Amazon, where people say that they either don't work or only work on dried urine; the latter being useless as the stain will have set by then.
My boys can be a bit naughty, especially if it's wet outside and we are having new carpets so want to nip things in the bud by spotting damp patches before it's too late.

I bought this one, but not from amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B009N9FE0U/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?qid=1386705304&sr=8-7&pi=AC_SX110_SY165
It's quite bright, sadly, it doesn't detect anything, even at a known pee patch. Avoid avoid avoid!0 -

Perhaps being bright is an indicator that it won't work, as some say that a bright light is not ultra violet.I bought this one, but not from amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B009N9FE0U/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?qid=1386705304&sr=8-7&pi=AC_SX110_SY165

:rotfl: at least I've got a good torch, then, although my memory could be playing tricks on me about the brightness as I haven't used it in months. All I know is though, is it doesn't work

It was worth a try.
I first learned about them at Crufts, some years ago, where a company selling carpet and outdoor treatments had their own version. However, theirs has bad reviews just like the others.0
