Turf prices?
Just wondering if turf prices change dramatically winter to summer? I'm looking to turf my garden around April, and looking at prices now I can get the 30(ish)sqm I'd need for a little over £100. Is this likely to increase drastically between now & then?
Also, what should I expect to pay to have that amount of turf laid? The earth will need to be prepared, but I'll have killed off all the grass (with Rosate 36) a good couple of weeks beforehand.

Not that expensive to have it laid.
We had our 10m by 10m "garden" (it was builders wasteland behind our new build so was full of stones, concrete etc.) leveled (massive job with a digger), 16 tonnes of soil, all turfed including digger hire etc for about £1,700 most of which was the materials. So I think as long as there was not too much work you'd get it done for <£1k, probably a couple of guys for a couple of days.
I can recommend someone in the area that did an amazing job of ours, we're bringing them back to do the front garden at some point and happy to send you a piccy of our before & finished garden. Drop me a pm if you are interested. I have absolutely no vested interest in them btw, just a very satisfied customer.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
We recently bought a new build, and included in the house price was a rotavated back garden, but no turf. We paid the company who rotavated it £4.00 a square metre for it to be supplied and laid, which is the price that the local B&Q were wanting for supply only. We moved in in March, and I think we had the turf laid pretty quickly after we moved in, well with a dog you would do.
Interestingly, the guy doing the rotavating did a better job on ours after I got his boss's phone number from him than he did on the back gardens to either side of us

That'd be great, at least as a place to start for quotes, thanks.Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.- Mark TwainArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.0
