walnut laminate floor - any recommendations?

We're looking around for a walnut laminate floor. After our engineered wood one we put down in the last place rapidly denting & scuffing, we're keen to find an alternative that:

1. doesn't cost the earth like the engineered wood one did
2. will with stand every day life. No kids, but 3 cats & visiting rowdy nieces

Has anyone any experience of walnut laminates specifically, but if not a recommendation of a laminate brand would be very much appreciated

TIA

  • Friend who's been in flooring for over 40 years recommended Quick Step so I had it fitted and it's beautiful and very hardwearing.

  • As a laminate fitter, I would definitely agree with "sophieschoice" and highly recommend the Quick Step brand.

I'm surprised your engineered floor took such a battering. Mind you when we put down our Oak engineered floor I hunted for a long time (14 months) for the most knotty wood I could find so that any dings or scrapes would not be readily noticed.

Thanks all, much appreciated. Quick Step it is then !

Hintza: we (stupidly) went for a smooth walnut. Looked lovely for the first couple of weeks, then things got dropped & it dented so easily

    Hi Grimbal,

Do let us know how the laminate from Quick Step turns out.
