Professional 'Snagging' Companies - New Build Properties

Has anyone ever used a professional company to 'snag' their new build house? I have priced up a company I found out about through a leaflet and on the net, and they charge £350 for a detailed 'snag' of your new build house.

This seems like really poor money saving to me and I am not happy to part with that much cash, but wanted to seek opinions as to whether it can be a good long term investment; catching faults early and ensuring I don't get landed with the repair bill in a few years time.

All views/experiences appreciated.

Thanks:D
If it was easy, everyone would do it!

Radio 4 had a program on about snagging recently. You can listen to it online here:

I would love to go round snaging new builds, being a painter & dec i see all the botch ups that get left for us to "hide".

I wouldn't buy a new build but i can see their walk-in practicality.

I would think you can snag yourself. you dont need to be a tradesman. just common sense and time. try to go through the build systematically

There's a site that a guy set up following his own experiences with a new build:

    https://www.snagging.org

You can buy a very comprehensive snagging document from the site for £15
I did this, and found over 100 snags, many of which I would not have known to look for.

    Best of luck
