Aggressive estate agent, solicitors in a battle

The questions that are outstanding sound highly relevant.
As for their solicitor not answering pre-printed forms, do they still do everything by quill as well.
I think as others have suggested that you need to talk to the vendor direct. They need to give their solicitor a stern talking too.
Agree.
After weeks of the vendors solicitor ignoring our queries and just ploughing ahead as if everything was ok, I got my conveyancer to ring them and thrash it out. I also rang the vendors ea and told them that as things stood, there's no way they will be getting their sale fee and gave them a copy of the list of things at needed answering before exchange. Got things sorted quite quickly.0 -
Firstly, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone here for your help so far. It's much appreciated.
In answer to ValHaller's question - looking back over correspondence we were told that our solicitor had already raised enquiries on 18th November, which is now over a month ago.0 -
After well over 4 months the vendor pulled out today saying it had 'taken too long' and was 'stressing her out'. I think this is code for 'I want more money'. I'm sure everyone has been through this before but I am absolutely gutted and furious in equal proportions. A waste of time and money from start to finish.0

sorry to hear that, what a ridiculous situation!
it may be time for the old 'turd through the letterbox' routine - a little light revenge might make you feel a little better

I'm so sorry - I had a similar situation with my vendors pulling out a long way down the line. The only explanation they gave was that they didn't like the delay (all of which they caused - it typically took over a week to get a response from them for anything, including things like giving the OK for the agents to let the surveyor in to do the valuation)
I hope you find somewhere even better, soon. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -

It did strike me that perhaps there is something amiss with the Leasehold pack as they have always been very reluctant to send it to us. Also, the lease is currently very close to the 80 year threshold and so I wonder if there's something going on with the freeholder. I suppose it is all academic now.0
