How long will it take if a sale falls through in December?

If a sale falls through on an empty property in December..The seller becomes greedy and wants more money.
How long could the sellers be waiting for to complete the sale in the next year?
I know there is no set answer but just wanted to get opinion of you experts.

It will be a great help to see what the experts think?0

If the sale has fallen through because the sellers are wanting more money, then the property will have to remarketed and a buyer found who is willing to pay the higher price.
Nobody knows how long it will take, so could be anything from 1 day to 10 years.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
How long piece of string?
Seller may get a buyer in weeks or they have to wait for months.
If the house is priced right, it will sell quickly.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -
I guess there is no end to greed especially in a rising market. Such people will find it hard to sell as by the time they find another buyer and agree the market would have moved a bit and the greedy seller would probably want some more!..hmmm
But I believe there is a balancing factor in terms of additional mortgage payments to
be made in case the sale falls through and the next one takes time..0 -

Depends where it is and what type of house it is. Many (run of the mill) houses are selling for fun in London at the moment. Might be a completely different story in South Wales in an old mining community with low employment and low wages.0 -
I like your comment 'Selling for fun'! The question is if the market in South East is such that prices keep inching up one would be lucky to get a seller that sticks to his word.0

As said earlier, the property will have to be remarketed and the seller may or may not get the price they are after but ultimately how long it takes depends on the type of buyer they find. They could find someone chain free, in which case it will be a quick sale. Or they could find a complex chain, in which case it could be several months. In any case, I wouldn't have thought it'd be any different than going through the process during any other time of the year. Getting someone to make an offer in December may take a bit of time but the process after that would still be standard.0

My sellers are asking for 25 K more than we agreed to. I am not sure whether to even try and negotiate or just tell them to lump it.0

Dont negotiate, only encourages this sort of behaviour!Pawpurrs x
