Did everyone know about the sugar offer in 'Poundies'? 49p per kilo, 6 bags per customer. Finally, I have managed to get hold of a relative who is visiting this month and they have visited their local store on my behalf. Yeah!
Best of luck to everyone for their November challenges!I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Hi Guys, Have not poster for ages but intrigued about the LED lights.
Would they be any good for a kitchen? They are the most used lights in the house and we will leave them on habitually when no one is in there! We have two lights. The room is the lightest in the house as the the sun shines in all day. I am sure this is where a lot of our electricity goes when no one is in there!0 -
The only room I currently have LEDs in is the kitchen, but in my house it's one of the darkest rooms as it's north facing - so at this time of year I need lights on almost every time I go in there. My kitchen has 7 recessed spotlight fittings, 4 of which now have LED bulbs (the other 3 having older energy efficient ones that still work).Cheryl0

picked up a lidl offers leaflet when I went in there yesterday, and from the 6th to the 12th November ..packs of 24 cushelle toilet rolls are down to £7.49 sounds good to me, I have been buying cheaper brands, but I have noticed its a bit of a false economy as we go through it quicker.. been buying the 24 pack of soft??? in home bargains and farmfoods, have tried the nicki stuff bot don't like that..
so might buy a few packs next week...
going to try and find some cheap demi-johns ( any idea where the cheapest place to buy them?) as I like crabbies, someone has now given me an easy receipe for alcoholic ginger beer.. should work at pennies for quite a few litres lolWork to live= not live to work0 -

It's £ streeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetcher
And I got my demijohns in the charity shop for £1 each
LED lights - you can get LED strip lights, but not sure if they are available online for delivery, so I'm contemplating switching my kitchen strip light to ordinary bulbs and just having a couple of 5w instead of the current 2 x 58w.
In an attempt to lower the heating bills I have also fitted an infrared bulb in the kitchen, where there's no heating. This makes a huge difference, especially as it's suspended over the dining area, making that a very cosy place to sit. Saves lighting the fire and costs less than 4p per hour to run.I reserve the right not to spend.

Does an infrared bulb need any additional electrical wiring or can it be used with 'normal' wiring? Not very technically phrased, sorry:p. What I mean is, our wiring is a bit iffy, something else that needs to have money spent on it:eek:. The ceiling light bulb in the kitchen (just a regular suspended fitting) occasionally 'blows' and I definitely don't think it's a dodgy lightbulb. I'm worried that adding heat to the equation will cause more problems but the prospect of a suspended heating source in my arctic kitchen is very tempting. We used to have a light fitting with heating elements round it (like a suspended circular electric fire:rotfl:) in the bathroom in the bad old days before central-heating and I remember it was on a different circuit to the fuse-box.0 -

I have it sribbled down on a back of an envelope in work, so will pick it up tomorrow and post it here..
We use infrared heat bulbs for our chicks and piglets

these are the type of holder and bulk we use.. and the holder has a 3 pin plug on them, so you just plug in to a normal socket.
you can get them cheaper.. I don't buy from this site.. just using it to show what we use..
check out your local agricultural/animal feed merchants. or even large pet stores..
they do give off tremendous heat, and the holders we have has a switch to turn them down etc..Work to live= not live to work0
