Checked the figures with dh....we have spent £200 since sunday!!
That leaves me with £100 until the end of the month for groceries...shockingly bad but no point in dwelling....back on the wagon with a vengeance now though!!;)Mortgage 12.12.12 £55842 12.12.13 £42716 14.12.14 £28837 13.12.15 £25913

I've had to stop buying stash and tools - at least until I get back to using it :rotfl:
I've got two rooms full of empty albums, cardstock, paper, embellishments, die cutters etc., etc., etc. But most of it was bought when I was in a well paid job.
I've got VERY good at not opening related emails apart from the announcement of sales around Nov/Dec time (and I managed to avoid even those this last time around). I'm about to start unsubscribing as I'll have limited access to emails when walking across Spain, and I don't want to waste bandwith / time / inbox space with them then.
Cheryl, just an idea but is it worth you opening anew google/hotmail whatever email purely for whilst in Spain, that way you won't have to worry about bandwith etc, as it will only be scheduled emails coming through.
Just a thoughtMy self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).

It's Friday :j:j:j:j:j
And I have finished my last full week at work
Managed to escape slightly early as the weather was nice, walked to the chip shop with OH and the dog, and had fish and chips in the park
Not very good for the diet or the wallet, but not something we do very often.
We sat in the garden with a glass of wine when we got back - peas and broad beans are up, gave the chickens some corn for free entertainment, (we are easily pleased :rotfl:)
Lots of things lined up for tomorrow, though I will be watching an auction online (looking for stock for small biz) so will have to do them between bids
MUST do something with eggs, as we seem to have a lot - our chooks are laying a bit, and DD's chickens and ducks are going mad, so she gave us some more eggs last weekend. Hmm, must put thinking cap on, eggs for breakfast and a cake I think!
Must also do March totals - we are into April and I still haven't done it
Have a nice evening everyone - I will finish my coffee, do a couple more jobs, then bath and bed, and another week done0 -
I'm still here plodding away. Need to develop more of a routine for household chores. Does anyone have any good tips for getting everything done?Grocery Challenge 2024

Mrs C I don't know the answer any more - I was told that if I do the chores first I'd have the rest of the day to do what I liked. I tried that and it worked for a while, then along came internet...I've not caught up with myself since!0 -

I try and do as much as possible on a Monday, to leave the rest of the week free. That's the theory anyway.
When I worked full time, I was focussed with household tasks, and just got my head down and did what was needed, often in the evenings after work.
So, it should be a lot easier now I'm only working two days a week. Trouble is, I've lost that focus to get things done, and find I put off starting things, and get side tracked while I'm doing things.
So it works out that I do some on Monday, the rest on Tuesday, and washing when I get a full basket, and Iron asap.Early retired - 18th December 2014

These sound amazing. I have a load of Co Op own brand weetabix that OH refuses to eat as he doesn't like them as much as branded ones. So now I have something I can do with them!Money money money.

I went shopping as planned today. I wasn't very impressed with Primark! The material quality on some of the items was very poor, and I didn't want to pay out any money for something I'd be happy to wear once and then it would be too worn looking! I only bought two items from there - a top which is just like a style I got last year but a new pattern, so I know I'll definitely get my wear out of that and a cropped cardigan which I also know I will definitely wear quite a few times.
I was more impressed with ASDA's clothes today. The quality of the materials, the styles and prices seemed quite good to me. I bought new sunglasses for an upcoming holiday, a nice top and another dress/top thing. I also grabbed two flattering dresses from H&M. Again all items I know I will definitely wear - which was the aim of the game today! Not to buy things I will not wear!
Quite pleased with my lotjust wish the odd thing was a little cheaper!
I hope you're all having a great weekend so far! I plan to stay home and relax for the rest of the day. And maybe do the odd survey here and there if I can..0
