I have never tried adding porridge either. Though do use loads of lentils and pearl barley.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

My spend for today £3.19 on birthday cards for the month then had to buy anti-perspirant (don't want to be a smelly girl!) but got one on half price in boots then paid for it with my points so cost nothing.
Also, dug out my knitting needles today as two babies due this year (not mine!) so am going to make pressies instead of buying them. Any tips on where's cheapest for baby wool? Did have a quick look in local charity chops but only chunky wool in mine at the moment.0 -
Inclover - this is going to sound tight, but I just use normal double knitting wool when I knit baby clothes, the last wool I got from £1world - its awful - now crocheting a blanket for doggies home.
I go to Wilkinsons, - usually £1.50 for 100grams
Poundstretcher, - different prices depending whats is in at the time
poundland (they do 3 balls of 50g for £2.00), That was good wool.
Or have you got a local wool shop, our town we have a small wool shop and the basic double knitting is £1.50 for 100grams xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

I'm hoping to baby wear this time in order to get maximum cuddles and also still get things done - do you use a sling or a bjorn type carrier? I'm just starting to look into slings as I've got a bjorn but wonder if something else might be more comfy. And you're not a bad parent!!!
hi chick i wore all 3 of mine (up till about 2) and whouldnt recommend a baby bjorn, as they do not have enough area to comfortable sit the baby on they call the crotch danglers and basically theres too much pressure in that area, something like a hip to hip carrier , i love soft stuctures (like ergos) and tradtional wraps karri me do a nice strechy one for newborns. ebay usually have a good secondhand selection..have fun !xx
Porridge oats..i have added them as mentioned about a handful, i find it makes a creamy gravy to stews. I made a tradtional wartime pie called wooltons pie.., they used a lot of oats then which is healthy and filling but was lacking something (the joke was back then it was lacking meat as its a veg dish) i think something like woster sauce (sp) ?Compers challenge 27/70

I always colour my own hair. I stock up whenever B00ts have it on offer and colour whenever the greys really start showing through.
I cut Hubby's hair too. I do one style - an all over with whichever length he chooses (usually the no. 9)Pay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022

I had a front carry thing for my first and I hated it, barely wore it and felt like he was in the way. With my second I bought a sling, super comfy and both baby and I adored it. I didn't use a pram for the first 3 months at all we both loved it that much! Great for breastfeeding, just flop one out and no one will know and baby can feed away to their hearts content! I flopped one out whilst walking around town for baby to feed and I felt quite liberated!
Beware of the moronic comments of 'whats in there?' 'Why are you carrying a dog' 'is that your bag?'
