is the dehumidifier broke

We have a channenge dehumidifier and it makes screeching noises and doesn't seem to be taking in as much water as it should. Does anybody know if it is fixable before i put it outside with other stuff i need to go to the tip?

Does it have a filter ?
If it has take it out and try switching it in to see if it still makes a noise.

Could be just blocked up not allowing it to pull in enough air.

The filter is clear but i will try it when i get back in as im just off out now. I will let you know.

I have an Ebac which had "fan screech" - as I'd have been binning it anyway, took it apart and cleaned out the fan bearing which cured it. Sure I've done this a couple of times now, probably every 6 years or so (must have had it over 15 years).

Could be worth a go if you are a bit mechanically-minded or know anyone who is - nothing to lose if it's headed for the tip...
