Smart car not as description

That's a service care policy, not a confirmed service interval requirement.

But yes, that would suggest a 12 month interval, although they don't qualify this with a mileage interval.
http://carleasingmadesimple.com/business-car-leasing/smart/fortwo-coupe/service-interval-miles/ puzzled me though - this suggests 25k miles interval (leased).0 -
Did they say that the car had been services every year?
If the car has only ever had one service, and has missed two, then the car has a full service history, doesn't it?0 -
No it doesn't. Any "reasonable" person would assume a FSH relates to "in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines".
So if this states that 3 services should have been completed within that time/mileage, but only 1 has been done, then this is NOT a "full service history".
By your definition then EVERY vehicle has a full service history - regardless of how many have been done the history is full.

I have several main dealers try this with me. The only thing it proves is poor service history. Having said that even when they service cars they do it badly, so its probably better they leave the car alone.0

It's not only the difference in value between a FSH vehicle and without this history.
Although it's not too common, some manufacturers will pay for all or part of the cost of repairs should there be an expensive and unexpected failure to part of the car, but this only seems to happen if the vehicle has been fully maintained in accordance with the service schedule.0 -
I guess that you dont have any proof of the fsh being stated - is it on the invoice or anything. As the deposit was paid by credit card you could try asking them, but the dealer may have got round the credit card being liable, by making it returnable.
The moral of the story is dont trust any car dealer, no matrer how upmarket they are.0
