My daughter was car hunting recently for her first car, and was looking at KAs. But I have been told by so many people (who have owned them), to avoid like the plague due to issues with quality and handling. Now I don't know, but this may just apply to older models.
I would generally agree with this (speaking as a current Ford owner), although in this case the cars being compared are essentially Peugeot and Fiat designs.
I would rate these two companies pretty much on-par with each other (Fiat probably slightly ahead), and really it comes down to customer service between the two -- Toyota would win that one.
The latest Ka is a very different car to the previous one. I've not heard anything particularly bad said about the Panda/500 platform and would not be put off buying one. It's a similar story for the C1/107/Aygo -- they've been around a long time now, and serious problems appear few and far between. I suspect either car will serve its purpose pretty well.0 -
Toyota are more reliable.0

I'd recommend the Toyota too. My Mum had a Ka a good few years ago, and it was prone to rust. She didn't keep that car long.0

Toyota every time, don't forget new cars have a 5 year warranty (although you probably won't need it!)I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Oddly the 500 is better equipped in certain areas apparently
I actually think the KA and 500 are decent little cars
The Aygo is a cheap car with fragile clutches and gearboxes and I think would be the wrong choice
Not really a Toyota anyway0 -
Toyota are more reliable.
Absolutely
In most cases
But from what I have heard and read the Aygo is not the best of the range
And the C1 and 107 are cheaper and almost identical, though I think you can get a diesel in one or both of the French badged versions.
If you want a small Toyota then go for a Yaris, a very solid little car and the new one does seem a nice car for urban runaround duties0 -
