UKPC letter what next

I have had a letter from Debt Recovery Plus ltd, which states that I have 14 days to pay the increased charge.

If I do not pay the full amount or not agreed a payment option with us, then we will recommend to the creditor's solicitor that court action should be taken to recover what you owe.

Please can someone give me some advice as I have been reading previous threads and I am unsure if this is a LBCCA or should this come from a solicitor rather than a recovery agency.

Anyone's help and advice on next steps would be gratefully received

Thanks

Its not a LBCCA nor are you likely to receive one from UKPC usual BS from DRP+.
  • So just ignore them at present?

I assume you have ignored everything from the start? If so then carry on ignoring. If you are the first to get a claim from UKPC come back!

Don't think you will need to!;)

Whilst you appear to be well down the line of this from your initial parking ticket (although we don't know what the critical date was - and what followed on from that), it looks like you don't have any appeal avenues open to you, unless someone other than the Registered Keeper was driving the car at the time.

You probably can't go much further than ignoring the DR+ stuff! although if this was a retailer's car park, a strongly worded complaint to them could see them cancelling this for you - it's worked numerous times and kills off any more rubbish from debt collectors.

But you do need to get some basic understanding about what all this stuff means, and you should read the 'NEWBIES' sticky at the head of the forum index where you will get loads of helpful advice including how to deal with debt collectors and their letters.

And whilst we don't expect you to receive court papers, you must be in the look out for anything to you headed 'Letter Before County Court Claim' - if that comes DO NOT IGNORE.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Read 'NEWBIES READ THIS FIRST!' at the top of the forum as Debt Recovery Plus letters are covered.

And if it was a retail or leisure car park, you should also read the 'Successful complaints about PPCs' sticky thread near the top. That's what the permanent notices (sticky threads) are there for. COMPLAIN about the harassment if you can bend someone's ear who runs/owns/trades on the site.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
