Just did a curious count up, and we've got £20! Granted, that includes a fiver, and three pound coins, but WOW! :T
I hope to be paying in the coins when we get to £20 proper, otherwise I can imagine they'll go dribbling out again. They'll be coming off the debt. Oooo, so excited! :jOH OD - £100.00/£100.00 Joint OD - £100.00/£100.00StepChange: £10,057.670 -
Evening everyone! :hello:
Thanks so much Purplemumof2 for adding me to the list! :j I've been collecting £2 coins for a while and use it to go towards my road tax. I managed to get a £2 coin in my change today, so this group is a big BIG bonus!

Little tip for MSE coin savers!
After my regular bank refused to accept more that 5 bags of coins from me yesterday they pointed me in the direction of Metro Bank (we have a branch in our town). Metro Bank have a free coin-counting machine, bit like the Coinstar machines except that they don't take a commission. You don't even need an account with them. Neither do you need to bag the coins up! You just pour them into the machine, get a receipt and take it to the counter to exchange for notes.
Of course you get the hard sell - I came out with armfuls of leaflets about children's savings accounts - but all the same it's a free service open to everyone plus they are open 7 days a week. I appreciate that they currently only have stores around London and the SE but I hope this info helps someone.
