This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well, warm and safe and have a super day :)

Morning All

Well, I'm back! Had the phone line and broadband put in yesterday so DD and I are happy bunnies, can't believe I feel so lost without the internet, I have come to rely on it for looking up numbers, etc.

Anyway, we are in our new house at last and it's fab. Needs quite a bit of decorating in time but it is wind and water tight with no nasty smells or anything. The decor is quite neutral so we can manage for now. I would like to live here for a while to get a feel for what I want.

DD is very happy, she can walk to the station in 5 mins instead of having to drive for 8 miles before getting the train to work. Met the neighbours on Sunday, they seem very pleasant and our very good friends live directly opposite - their 8 year old daughter is keeping tabs on us, told DD she saw her brushing her hair - I think some blinds will come in handy there!!

Hope everyone is ok, I will try to catch up with what I have missed, take care. XX

Morning All
I am off for the 09.33 train to Leeds for a mini meet up with Jayward. Can use my bus pas from 9.30 :D. She is fine by the way, but feels she has nothing to say, but she is more OS than I (not hard I hear you say). DH said it was 7am, so up I got, only to find his eyes must have been half shut, it was 6am. So having a browse and a coffee, and have put a loaf I the BM.
Sunday we got the tree and lounge decorated, just before visitors arrived, then the master Tennis was on, which I went to see with DS last year. Very entertaining, I think we more laughs at some of the doubles antics as many a theoretically comedy programs these days. Did anyone watch the Brice with Amanda program, we taped it, and watched it back the other day, found more to laugh at with that too.
Yesterday we got the second small fibre optic tree up I the Conservatory, and decorated that. All boxes now back in the loft, Xmas cards to start, though I did do most of the Spanish ones back in November, and the caravan ones, when we were last out. Must print my list off.;)
Also cooked some Venison Mince I had bought with the Venison joint last year, how time flies, added some veg, and have got one lot out for DH today, and frozen the rest. Sorted through the 3 inside freezer draws, mmmm, better not buy much I think. Found a portion of fish pie, which was taking room up together with a portion of Tuna Pasta bake for DH and tea was sorted with some added veg. Must have a look in the garage freezer too, but that will not be today,,;):T:beer:
DS's bedroom when he comes home (spare room really), needs sorting as all the Xmas stuff is in there plus a load for,the Charity shop. BHF were supposed to be coming to collect it. so had better wrap and sort tomorrow, so I can put them away, or have them ready for our Xmas this year which is this coming weekend when DS's & F come home. Her Mum's turn for Xmas this year. They have had their Xmas present in October when needed, a mini Dyson, so only stocking filler for them, and the gifts for DGNeice & Nephews. Struggling to find something for DH, will find him something to open, we do not go buying what we don't need, it might be a TV for the back room for us both. DS has the one we had in there, and I am missing it. Waited to see if we did need it.
Think I have waffle on enough, so I will take my leave with.(((Hugs))), Spoons & Positive Vibes all round. Take care everyone. DG

N.b. Camelot pleased to hear you have got moved OK, yes isn't it surprising how we rely totally on something so new.

• Good Morning all.

Hope everyone is staying warm and dry today.

Hugs to all who need them.

Good Morning chums ,dark and misty outside and a bit of frost on the car,so I'll wrap up warm this morning.First I have the school run then a quick gallop to the bank to stick a cheque in that my late OHs Lodge have sent to me as a Chrismas gift bless them. Then I am hosting a coffee morning for U3A then whizz around to DDs afterwards to let the dogs out for five minutes. Then its fly down to Faversham for lunch with sis-in-law and to pick up a laundry basket of books for my local hospital to help raise funds. She told me on Sunday that her and her DD had sorted out a stash and she was going to bin them !!!! no way when they can help to raise much needed funds. Then back in time to pick Mikey up from school at 3.30 then back to his house to make a snack and stuff for the boys and hopefully home by 6.30 for a quick snack then off again to the pub for the Quiz night :):):) home by 10.30 and collapse into bed Who ever said retirement was a doddle :):)
So a busy day today,I also have to fit in at some point change the bed in the spare room as my lovely big brother Davy is arriving tomorrow for a couple of days from his home in France and he wants to go Christmas Shopping:):) its all go at the moment ,at least I don't have time to get bored ;););)
Have a peaceful and restful day chums and I'll see if I can grab 10 minutes tomorrow for a quick chinwag
Cheers chums

Oh nooo – and yessss at the same time, lol – I haven't been able to eat pizza for ages because of my teeth, I said to my mum when I was halfway through treatment that I couldn't wait to go out for pizza. She rang yesterday and asked if I wanted to out for lunch on wednesday, she rang E and asked her too. Pizza Hut it is then :D I'll have to choose one slice of pizza and fill my plate with salad. I don't have a copy of those wedding photos but the ones of me are burned into my brain :D And I'm not having a pudding.

Mr tru wants to go into town with me, he has a couple of things to get. So we're going in on friday. My action plan won't work when he's with me :D I like to jot down exactly what I need from each shop, then I work out my route, lol. No criss-crossing across town for me. But he forgets things and doubles-back on himself A LOT, very irritating.

I haven't wrapped anything yet :o I was distracted by yarn and hooks, I now have crocheted baubles :D I've got the presents, paper, etc. out ready so will get on with it today. The decs are out of the loft, I'll put them up today too. The bottle of wine is waiting for me next to the bread bin :D

Morning everyone

Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x

Still dark here, but it's foggy and looks like we may have had a frost too.

DH up and now getting ready for work.

Dinner last night was a very easy and lazy pizza's, chips/jacket potato, salad, and sides with garlic bread, chocolate birthday cake for dessert. Tonight is likely to be fish.

Work wasn't very busy at all for a Monday - so have no clue how it's going to be today, sometimes it stays quiet or it could go the complete opposite and be manic! It does generally quieten down a bit at this time of year as people are busy doing xmas shopping etc. We'll have to wait and see.

I'm hoping that at some point this week I can get organised enough to get the marzipan on my xmas cake, so it can be drying out ready for the icing layer. Also need to write some xmas cards and buy some wrapping paper and start wrapping - have just realised this weekend how close it is!

Keep safe and well x
