Clubcard points at esso.

I've been to a couple of essos lately. They're giving clubcard points now - I think tesco have bought them.

I've been to one esso that had Tesco staff (in tesco uniform) manning the shop and I got full 1point per £ on the clubcard.

The last one I went to had esso staff on and I got only half point per £. Is this the norm or have I got it mistaken?

There may be an "offer" on, at my Tesco/Esso I get half a point per £ on fuel, and 1 point per £ on food/sweets papers etc.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

You think Tesco, a supermarket in the UK have bought Esso? :T

I suppose Sainsbury's must own BP now as I get Nectar points when I fill up there! ;)

I also have started to get clubcard points in two Esso petrol stations I sometimes use.

Esso and Tesco have done a deal. Look here http://www.exxonmobil.co.uk/UK-English/news_releases_refining_tesco_clubcard.aspx

Our local Esso stopped pricematching the Asda petrol prices opposite as soon as they started offering clubcard points.

I take your point. But when a esso pump is staffed by tesco uniformed people selling tesco own brand products and tesco branding it would appear they have merged. But I guess it's just a partnership.

So what does it mean for tesco fuel? Are they going to be use esso fuel with esso additives?
  • Interesting.. Do you get the same number of points that you would get if you went to tesco directly? I have a tesco extra and an esso with tesco shop at equal distances to me. The prices of diesel are the same at both...

  • Just answered my own question.. But just to add its double points at the min... More info here...
