first utility nitemare

If anyone can give me any advice on this i would be most grateful.
About a month ago i made a mistake reading my electric meter, which resulted in getting a £960 bill.Obviously i called them straight away and spoke to a man, he said to give new meter readings which i did and it appears i was rounding up on the numbers instead of rounding down. anyway the man said to just pay the gas and the electric will sort its self out by the time of the next bill.
So a few weeks ago i got a chaser email saying i still owed £911, so i called again and spoke to a woman who again said don't worry it will sort its self out by the nest bill.
Well i have just had a demanding email saying pay now to avoid action,
Also when i log into my account online it shows another £290 bill due now. so this is clearly shows the electric has been sorted out but they have not sorted out the £911 bill....
I have sent 3 complaint email but i hear nothing back.
Please someone help if you can, i can't pay over £1202
