switching bank question

if i were to switch banks, currently i am with the royal bank of scotland whom i have no issues with except i get zero back from them in any way shape or form, i was thinking of switching to santander123 account and get some returns on my direct debits ie water, mobile sky etc.
my question's are if i do the switch, will all my direct debits retain the same payment dates that i have them setup for now?
i also assume i will need to notify my employer of my bank change for my wages to go in.
also with regards to getting cashback for sky for example. is this hassle free ie i have my sky direct debit set up and say the bill is £50 per month then santander automatically gives me 3% back.
thanks

For standing orders and payees the references will remain the same. I.e. if it was "From bank A" it will be the same after moved to bank B and you will need to correct this.i also assume i will need to notify my employer of my bank change for my wages to go in.
