Adding children onto tenancy agreement?

I have recently moved in with my partner and his father and sister.

The house is Housing Association. His father and mothers name was on the tenancy agreement. The mother passed away, leaving the father only on the agreement.

He isn't very well, having a heart attack last year, and heart surgery.

I am wondering if anyone knows what the 'deal' is, if their father dies. Where does this leave us who currently live in the house? Would we be kicked out?

Is it possible to have my partner and his sister put on to the tenancy agreement, so this doesn't happen?

From what I know of councils and housing associations, the answer would be a definate NO.

I have known several people who asked if their kids could go on the T.A, so they can 'be protected'/inherit the tenancy, and they always say no.

And yes, they WILL 'kick you out,' all of you, as soon as the dad dies. (sorry.......... :( )

Your partner and sister need to go and put their names on the housing list. You too, by the sound of it - as you are living with them.

Best ask the landlord. They are the only ones who can give you the correct answer.

Might be that the right of succession has been used up when your partners Mother passed away so the HA May say no. Best to ask them then you can plan for the future.
