Hi Everyone.
I've got a bit of a problem, which I'm hoping for a bit of advice on, please.
In February this year, I was given a gift. It did what it was supposed to. In August, it broke. Between these dates, I lost contact with the person who gave it to me.
I emailed the support department of the manufacturer, giving required product details and fault symptoms, and stating that I had no contact with the person who bought it, that I didn't know who the retailer was, and that I certainly didn't have proof of purchase. They replied, apologising, but stating that they were unable to help because the product was within the 12 month warranty period, and that I must contact the retailer.
At this point, the product started to work again. It's been a little "iffy" since, but I've found a workaround. Until yesterday, when it broke completely again. I've again contacted the manufacturer, who have categorically declined to assist, refused to accept any accountability for their faulty products (their facebook page is littered with customer complaints regarding various models with similar issues) and repeated that I must contact the retailer.
I'm happy to name the product, and the manufacturer, however have tried to keep my original query as generic as possible.
Can anyone offer any advice please?
Thank you!!

Yes, I was hoping to avoid that...Not really a hit as you didn't pay for the item in the first place.
Can you not get the person who bought it to help you out?
Well, it is really, since I need to replace it...
No, apparently not. The person who bought it is refusing to respond to my emails.0
