Contacting Scottish Power

I contacted Scottish Power (SP) by phone and was told i was 1st in queue to be answered.I then got a message stating "we are experiencing high call volumes".Is this possible even though i was 1st in line.

I know SP could have been chatting to someone on the phone b4 me but stating high call volumes when your next in line to be answered is taking the mick, don't you think.

My top tip when phoning any utility is to choose the option for new customers, they'll answer very quick. Then threaten to leave if they don't resolve your problem. It works wonders usually.
