Hi I am trying to find out if a Landlord has permission to rent out his property.
I am unsure how to get the details from the Land registry.
I have looked and seems to be from £20 upwards to check
Any help appreciated,especially links.

Are you looking at the right site - http://www.landregistry.gov.uk/ ???
There are plenty of (legal) scam sites which sell you anything you can get from a government site at a huge mark up.You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
A bit anxious at the moment think I was on the wrong site.
Thanks0 -

The Land Registry cannot tell you if the owner has permission to rent out his property.
The LR Title will tell you two things:
1) the name of any mortgage lender
2) the address the Land Registry has recorded for the owner, which may be the property address,or may be elsewhere.
It is suggested elsewhere on this forum that if the address is the property, that suggests the owner does not have permission. This is rubbish. There are many reasons (including mere forgetfulness or ignorance) why an owner may not give the LR a new address.
However, if you wish to check, pay £3 :

Agree with G_M
A Land Registry check will not give any information to confirm that the LL has "permission" to let his/her property.
And permission may not be required. It won't be required if there's no mortgage on the property. A Land Registry check will show if there's a mortgage, but not whether the lender has given permission or whether they require it.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

Are you concerned the property might be repossessed as that's the only scenario where the LL not having permission should affect you? If so are you within a fixed term?Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0
