Exchange today or sale off :/

Hi all,
I am going crazy sat here, not able to do anything.
My purchase has been dragging on, 14 weeks tomorrow, partly due to issues the vendor had to sort out, and because of those the property was down-valued so I had to get a new mortgage offer.
It has been frustrating but I have been doing everything I can to move things along.
It looks like we are possibly able to exchange today, however, my solicitor's latest update was:
"We have just called the seller's solicitors and they have said they are waiting for confirmation on their related transaction that the date is agreeable. We can then exchange".
I asked if this was to do with another property and she said yes.
However, the vendor and I have been in good contact over text, keeping each other updated. I let him know that was what we were waiting for and his solicitors said that they emailed and called my solicitor at 11.30am this morning and haven't heard anything back.
He is now saying that if the exchange doesn't happen today he is going to pull out.
I have called my solicitor and the partner who oversees her work, and left voicemails, as well as emailing. But nothing!
No idea what this means, or what the hold up is.
I couldn't bear to lose this house

Sounds like a hollow threat to put pressure on. 14 weeks is not slow, that is quite normal.0

Fingers crossed when somebody does call you back its because you have exchanged.0

Congratulations.
It is stressful, I was at the 'they can shove their house up their jacksie ' stage the exchange day of mine. Once you get the completion date the insurance will just do it automatically (or mine did). I can't think of anything else.....oh except book movers if you are using them...I ended up with 32hrs to move or wait 6 weeks.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0
