Ive finally paid off my £3,000 debt with British Gas and have now decided to change suppliers for both Gas and Electricity.
Just wondering how my usage compares with other people. I have no clue if it's high or average but im certain it's not low!
My house is 3 bedrooms with a loft conversion for my teenage son so on loft insulation!!!
I have a small child at home so heating is on alot in winter.
My annual gas bill is around £1148.00
my annual electricity bill around £775.00
Any advise about switching would be appreciated. Thanks

You have not posted what your usage is so who can say? We do not know what price you are paying.
Dig out your annual usage in kWhs, not in pounds. Use that information along with your postcode in a comparison site to see what other tariffs cost.
But in pounds and pence you are spending twice the average on electricity and a third extra on gas. (But we can't tell whether that is due to a high price or above average usage or both.)0 -
(If you don't have your usage in kWhs to hand you can telephone British Gas and they will tell you.)
One other thing: as you are an above average user it is important that you check the electricity-only and gas-only from separate suppliers on the comparison sites - the default will show you dual fuel options, select the tab or pull-down widget to check single fuels.
And after entering usage data on the comparison site one of the last questions will be "show only tariffs we can switch you to today" or something - make sure you select "no" to that kind of question so that all tariffs are shown.0
