3's 321 PAYG plan

Hi

I was hoping for some feedback from anyone on the above 3 plan.

I'm currently on GiffGaff's £10 PAYG plan and the reception at home is terrible hence thinking of jumping ship and joining 3.

I only make an hours worth of calls, a handful of text and a couple of hundred meg of data a month so this plan looks ideal.

One question I have is how do they charge for the internet usage? I get it's 1p per MB but what if you use 1.1mb on your way to work, then 1.2 whilst on your break, then 1.6 on your way home. Is that 6p worth of browsing?

Apologies if this seems small potatoes but just weighing up whether to give it a go or consider another PAYG plan

Thanks

  • Consider using Ovivo. Free 200 mins, 300texts, 500MB data every month!!

One off joining fee of £20, and the only catch is that you will see adverts when browsing every now and then as its an ad-supported free service.

Check 3UKs tariff for 321 - there will be rounding (as there is on calls) but as their costs PDF Mb are cheaper then any other competitor, your only issue is whether the can offer the coverage you need.

Ovivo runs on the coat tails of a very expensive competitor - and is not a 'real' network either, just a virtual one. Just check your coverage first, and that's sterling advice for all networks.

I wouldnt say thats the only catch - remember they are on Vodafone network. :(
  • The ovivo advert are really annoying and frequent. Especially annoying when no 3g coverage, which on vodafone network seems to be anywhere outside a town or city.

Yes indeed, I've been on Ovivo for a while but the adverts are becoming a right pain, especially if you're in a dodgy signal area (Seems quite often with Vodafone) as you get an advert page each time you re-connect to the network.

I think Ovivo's a good idea and seems to be working out for them as they've been increasing the free allowances, it's let down by the Vodafone network in my opinion. It's fine for someone who doesn't use any data.

I've just ordered a free payg '3' SIM to try out.

    +1

I am considering downgrade my S3 to one of those Chinese Mobile with dual SIM. Using Three PAYG for surfing, ovivo for free minutes/ text/ Whatapps.
  • I've been on 3 for about a month now. My giffgaff number is porting today, I couldn't miss out on all that payback! My experience so far is that 3 don't seem to round up data use. It's costing me what i expected it to. Very happy so far.
  • Thanks for suggesting Ovivo, I've passed that info onto a friend who is going to look at them but I don't think I could put up with the ads. I'll give 3 a go seeing as there is no tie-in period

    Thanks again
