MyHermes nightmare

Can anyone offer me some advise? I used MyHermes to transport a parcel. They have lost it. I have sent them proof of sale. Which was £216.00 also a copy of the refund I issued to my customer. I have emailed Carole Woodhead the CEO. They have offered me a settlement of £62.20. Can they get away with this? I paid them for a service of signed delivery which I haven't received.
If you are thinking of using there service I would STRONGLY advise against doing so. I was assured some one from head office would contact me first thing this morning. Needless to say I'm still waiting. THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE STINKS.

I assume you've chosen a delivery method with a capped compensation limit? If you're posting a £216 item you need to make sure you have paid for the service that will insure the whole £216.
  • Yes I did. I didn't expect them to lose it. I thought they were a professional company. I didn't think I would have to pay for there service. And then pay extra for the loss or damage of a service they provide and I had already paid for? :(

But you haven't paid for that service. You've paid for the carriage of an item worth around £62, not for the carriage of an item worth £216.
