My father passed away recently and the house is being spilt 3 ways. my family decided to go for the property.

so we are buying it off my mother, only problem is the combi boiler does not work.

anyone know if there is any grants etc we could get? we are on working tax credit.

If not, how much would we be looking at to replace the gas combi boiler?

I recommend that you call your local energy efficiency advice centre free on 0800 512 012. Funded by govt, they can advise you on grants available for boilers as well as other measures such as cavity wall insulation and loft insulation.

Alternatively you can search the Energy Saving Trust's grant database which can be found at www.energysavingtrust.org.uk

But it's probably quicker to pick up the phone.
