Hi there
Apologies if this is in an incorrect section.
Have been given my late fathers stamp collection and I would like to get a valuation - from someone reputable.
Lots of people/ shops on the internet but looking for peoples experience please.
Yorkshire / Lincolnshire area preferred.

No experience of your particular part of the country, but don't expect huge amounts unless the collection is made up of rare and desirable deviations from the norm. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

If you have a local Philatelic Society near you try contacting them.
They may be interested in giving you a rough valuation if you take the collection to one of their meetings.0 -
Hi, I am in a similar situation, some years ago my fathers collection of French stamps was valued at over £8k now it is around £3k. So don't expect to get catalogue prices.
There are auction houses, Cambridge stamp auctions and Essex stamp auctions were very helpful. The stamps are now with http://www.hhsales.co.uk/ who are in Yorkshire and will be selling the French ones through the France and Colonies Philatelic Assoc. for me.
They also bought some of the books on stamps.
PM me if you like, I am in N.W. Lincolnshire.0
