Cheap ferry tickets or codes asap needed

My partners step dad has just passed away and we are wanting to go to Germany to support his mum.
Daughter breaks up from school on 20th so we are planning to go then the day before maybe. (there will be 3 of us)
Cheapest way is to drive but we are looking for cheap ferry or tunnel, so does any one know of any codes or the cheapest way please?
Any advice much appreciated
