Travel To Florida & Pakistan

Hi all. I'm off to Florida with friends in April, I ned to apply for a new ESTA as mine runs out while I'm there. I'm also visiting a relative in Pakistan in May, again I need a visa.
For my trip to Pakistan I will be staying on a secure compound as my Uncle who i am visiting is employed by the British Government and is out there for three years.
Will having an appication being processed for Pakistan cause me problems getting into Florida.
As ever, thanks in advance.

I'd say you should apply for the Esta online first. That will be very quick anyway. I don't know the process for Pakistan Visas, but I know the process for India ones - and it is a bit of a nightmare of a form etc, but ours actually came back really quickly and without any problems. The India ones only last 6 months max though - and they sometimes issue for less. Makes sure that when you apply for your visa it will definitely be valid for your stay (ie that you don't apply too early).0

You don't need a new ESTA - as long as it's valid on the day you arrive you will be granted admission, all being well, for 90 days or the expiry of your passport if sooner.
Pakistan will have no bearing on your visit to the US - as long as your passport isn't actually in the possession of the Pakistani authorities for visa processing at the time.......0 -
Pakistan is an independent country, and does not have to tell the US authorities whenever someone applies for a visa! (US spies can probably get hold of this kind of information, but I hope they don't use it to decide to deny ESTAs.)0
