My clinical negligence claim in respect of a disastrous eye operation is progressing well and my lawyers have now asked me to compile a Schedule of Loss.
Does anyone know what sort of items I should include in it?
Absolutely anything and everything that could possibly be relevant is fair game at this stage - all ideas welcome.
MODERATORS - I was not sure which form to posy this in. Please feel free to move it if you see fit.

Surely your lawyer should be advising on the items to include?
But from an ethical perspective I'd say you should only be claiming things that are actually direct costs you've incurred as a result - so a taxi because you can't drive would be relevant for exampleRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
My lawyer has given some sketchy advice but nothing too detailed. Yes, it is really her job - I am just trying to include everything that might be a possibility to start with in my draft submission for my lawyer.0

Any loss of earnings and cost of corrective surgery would be the two obvious ones.0

We've been through similar with this with a family member ourselves ... Our lawyer said at one point we couldn't claim for something's then asked me for receipts for those things I said you told me I couldn't claim so got rid of the receipts ... Ohh right well you can claim for them now was the lawyers response ... However we didn't have any receipts so couldn't
Other loss things we have been told to include was the travelling for visitors etc to the hospital ... Our relative was in for over 5 month and we visited twice per day every day
Also helping with cooking and cleaning ... We had to buy a lightweight Hoover for the relative so that was claimed for ( lower body injury which meant that the relative couldn't handle the excessive weight if a normal Hoover etc)
We certainly have no intention whatsoever Of ripping it but this relatives life has changed for good, they will never work ever again and will have to have carers for life etc ... They have also been left with a paralysis etc
You may wish to speak to a lawyer etc regarding personal injury trust to safeguard any monies received
Good luck with it all ... It's a very stressful process one of which I am having to do all the dealing with for said relative due to the nature of their injury
We are three years down the road and can expect it to last another year no problem0
