Compensatory Notice Pay. rp2 form.

Hello there. I was looking for some advice to fill an rp2 form in.
I had 2 jobs. Unfortunately, i was made redundant in one i'd been at for 6 year due to the company going into liquidation (i wasn't given any notice, i was just given a letter when i went to pick my pay up on pay day). I was hoping someone would be able to give me some advice to help me fill in my form.
It's asking did i have a job during your notice period.
if its referring to gaining a new job, i would answer no, but i did have a job (started in july 2012). So do i think of it as did i gain a new job within the notice period? should i tick yes or no?
The other problem i have is when it talks about benefits. I wouldn't of been eligible to receive jobseekers allowance as i already had another job. The only two options to tick are 'i did not want to claim benefits' or 'my claim was refused'.
Neither of these options were the case. So i'm a bit wary to how to answer this question.
Or should i attach a letter in with the form explaining this?
If anyone has any advice, id greatly appreciate it.
Thank-you.
