Gold Sovereigns

Probably not the right forum, but hopefully some of you learned folks can help.
Am looking to buy a small number of gold sovereigns as gifts. A bit of research suggests the Royal Mint is very expensive and there seems to be a few sites online selling them for 200-250, depending on age.
I'd like to get my hands on a couple of older ones, Queen Victoria etc if I could but would settle for anything legit really.
Any recommendations for a good place to buy, that is available to the general public?
Live in Belfast, if anyone knows anything local.
Much appreciated.

There is a company called "Chard" who are in Blackpool and deal extensively in Sovereigns of all ages
Just Google Chard Sovereigns and there site will show up...they obviously do mail order.0 -
I can vouch for Chard and also Baird & Co, both reputable

Another couple of places to consider are https://www.coininvestdirect.com and http://www.elminvestments.co.uk/gold-coins.html
I've purchased from both of them a few times and have never had a problem.
The price will depend on what grade of coins you want.
A standard bullion grade Sovereign will cost you about £190 where as a proof coin will be In the region of £320 if you buy from the Royal Mint.0 -
Thanks for the replies, all appreciated.
Should make an unusual but interesting Christmas gift!0 -
I can back up the sites other posters have given you, plus this one.

I bought a specific birth-year Sovereign for my mother's 80th from Chard in Blackpool. The coin was in excellent condition, arrived promptly and I was very satisfied with their price and service.Old dog but always delighted to learn new tricks!0
