Rabbit

Options
I cant seem to find anyone locally selling rabbit, do you know anyone online selling it? I have been talking about trying it for ages, But I want to buy it from a good quality butcher etc...I did buy one years ago, but couldn't face cooking it at that time..... If we like it, then we were thinking of rearing our own...

I love Rabbit, we are lucky to have a good Fish market, I get my Rabbit from there, they chop it for you and always tastes delicious.

We tried cooking a rabbit some years ago, when my Wife realised it looked similar to a new born baby she refused to cook it and we ended up with sausages for our Sunday dinner.

Make sure you get wild rabbit rather than farmed. Far tastier and larger. They're great marinaded in herbs/spices then roasted/grilled/BBQd if you don't fancy a stew or casserole.

Have you tried Swansea market? The only time I've ever bought rabbit, I got it there. I haven't bought it again as hubby wasn't keen on it and although I don't mind handling meat, (I'm veggie) I thought it looked too much like a skinned cat and really hated dealing with it!

You could always ask the butcher to remove it's head and joint it for you. Once jointed it doesn't look very much different to chicken portions.

Good idea. But, as I said, hubby wasn't keen, so I won't be buying it again.

I don't know. Rabbits are considered a pest so I'm not sure if there is a season. Having said that, if I bought rabbit, I wouldn't want to buy one in the spring in case it was a mummy rabbit.
