Thanks for counting me in, am going to save mine weekly in our local credit union christmas savings club, it's a seperate savings thingy that you can't apply for a loan with and, although you can withdraw it, you have to apply for it (even though it's your money). Will use it for this challenge as will be in weekly paying off the loan anyway. Will use the extra cash for Christmas as things are going to be suuuper tight this year, am determined to pay off my mortgage arrears _pale_ This is a great idea by the way, thanks for starting the thread :)

  • Wow, great number of people signing up. Looking forward to this starting now. Roll on January.

  • Just bumping this back up so more people can see it and also I have decided to go forwards instead of backwards. I might be a little skint in January!

  • It'll be a good challenge for sure ! I am making plans for the money already which is probably dangerous ....
  • I've decided I'm going to withdraw from this challenge - sorry! I'm looking at the January budget right now and doing this challenge in reverse just isn't going to work as right now all my spare money should be going to pay the debt off. Next month might work better but I don't see much point in signing up if I can't get the first month right...
    Novuna personal finance 0% 4-year £518/£1866
Credit card debt free! Now on the journey to mortgage free.
  • Why not just go forwards for now then change direction when you feel more financially confident?

    hey splodge.

I am tempted to join (very tempted) but can I wait and see if I get my proper pay first. I am due about 50 hours for extra shifts and if I get it then I can join in but if not then it will be another very lean month with no spare cash at all.

Any chance I can be number 88 seeing as number 8 is taken??

If I do get paid then I will be going backwards. If not then I won't be taking part.

The plan is to use the saved money for a holiday in 2015!! (possibly new york).

it most certainly is. I am very set in my ways with regards to the number 8 (and also even numbers in general). I consider it lucky and that I am more inclined to succeed if number 8 is involved. Silly, I know but then when am I not.
    ;)

Cool. Thanks very much splodge.. and I will let you know at some point this week if I can take part properly (get paid on xmas eve apparently). fingers crossed.
