ABBA Museum, Stockholm

I am looking to take my sister to the ABBA museum for her birthday next year. We will be travelling from NE England. I have looked online for flights, trains, trips etc. but can't find anything!
We don't mind how we get there (apart from driving ourselves!).
Any advice?

SAS from Edinburgh might be an option. They don't fly every day though.

Or Ryanair. Watch out though - their "Stockholm" airport is probably about as far from Stockholm as Edinburgh is from you :rotfl:

Can you get down to Manchester? You can fly direct from there to Stockholm with SAS

This is probably an expensive option!
Cruise from Rosyth on 10 August 2014 with Fred.Olsen Cruise Lines. Oslo, Copenhagen, Helsinki, overnight (2 days) St Petersburg, overnight (2 days) Stockholm.13 nights.
Price in brochure: from £1169 pp inside cabin (but small discounts available from certain cruise specialist travel agents)

Also very similar cruise with overnight in Stockholm from Newcastle ( Port of Tyne) on Sept 14th 2014 for 14 nights. From £1169 pp inside cabin. Other ports: overnight St.P, then Oslo, Tallin, Travemunde, Kiel Canal. Also Fred Olsen

Wins the prize for thinking outside the box!

I'd only got as far as Norweigan flying from Manchester to Arlanda.

  • I live in Stockholm - and moved here from Sheffield so hopefully I can help :)

The best bet is Norwegian Air. I have to travel back to the UK regularly and they are the cheapest. They fly from Manchester and a new route from Edinburgh from April. The flights cost from about £30 each way so pretty cheap!

Norwegian flies to Arlanda airport which is a 30 min train ride away from central Stockholm.

Ryanair flies to two "Stockholm" airports which are around a 90 minute bus ride from the center of Stockholm. It is a pretty easy bus ride though so don't discount it.

I haven't been to the Abba museum - but Stockholm is a beautiful city and well worth a trip. If you go to the Abba museum you should also check out Skansen which is a Nordic zoo/outdoor museum just opposite the Abba museum.

If you want any more Stockholm tips let me know.
