PayPal accounts do get frozen and require verification from time to time. The company I'm at has an account with £39,000 in it and it's limited meaning, no sending, withdrawing or closing the account. Mine's been frozen from time to time while they ask for more info.

Paypal freeze accounts with large amounts of money because its nuts to keep it there.

It has no protection and no interest - so Paypal see it as hiding money / possible money laundering.

Better to only accept paypal on ebay, otherwise you will not well protected.

OP is the seller, so has no option but to accept Paypal. The protection it offers is primarily for the buyer not the seller.

While there is no choice but to accept Paypal, it's the only payment method out of cash, cheque or bank transfer and Paypal that exposes you as a seller to credit card fraud, reversals, or 'unauthorised transaction' claims.

Yes, you get 'protection' - but only because accepting Paypal exposes you to these risks in the first place! And the protection is only good if you hang onto those postage receipts..

I'd much rather by paid by bank transfer if I had a choice, purely as you know the money is there are can't be clawed back.
