Hi, we came back to our car last night only to see a PCN on the windscreen , even though we were correctly displaying a valid blue badge ( as we parked on double yellows) it is ticked on the notice as out of marked bay.... How can they issue a ticket when I had the badge clearly showing. Wondering what to do im so angry as just in front there was a car parked on the yellows too, but they had no ticket, but were displaying a live of paper saying they were staff in windscreen. RobDogs I think

Okay you need to understand something, the blue badge scheme does not apply on private land at all, please read your handbook on that. Private parking companies are cowboys, parking on private land is unregulated, so they make it up as they go along.
A few quick questions for you
1) is this England or Wales ?
2) are you the registered keeper?
3) have you contacted them yet?
4) have you made complaints to the retail park or service provider? When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

The problem with the PPCs using double yellow lines is that Blue Badge holders treat them in the same way as they would do on the public highway.
Whereas I would always try to help those caught by PPCs, I also realise that Retail Parks and Supermarkets try to maximise their parking availability and design tight spaces and cram as many in as they can.
So if they have double yellow lines, one has to ask why. Why waste possible parking spaces?
Often it is because there is a possible obstruction if you park there, or a danger spot or you may be blocking other drivers' views of pedestrians/shoppers stepping out.
I don't know your circumstances, obviously, but do give some thought to not parking on double yellows in a Private Parking area. (I am NOT referring to Airport roads and dropping off/picking up situations here)0 -
That maybe so, but the point is that parking companies just make it up as they go along, they use any excuse to make a buck! I am inclined to hive the benefit of the doubt here. And they cannot punish people in such a way, all they can do is claim for an alleged breach of contract, and their losses because of that breachWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. I quite agree and you will have seen my repeated post about the fact that it isn't whether you are guilty or innocent - it's the punishment that is excessive that is the problem.
My point was about potentially bad parking and the PPCs using double yellow lines that confuse drivers with highway double yellows.
I am suggesting that in future, OP doesn't assume they can park wherever and that double yellows on private land might be there for a purpose.0 -
How can you be guilty of an offence that you haven't committed?
All thats happened is that youve breached some made up un enforceable rule enacted by some poxy parking company based in a porta cabin behind a pub in Leeds.
Wait for a letter to the registered keeper to arrive, then you need to take some action, both as a complaint to the car park owner and the Parasitic Parking Company (PPC) in order to put a stop to this silliness. From the Plain Language Commission:
