repaying every month

I got my self an aqua card with a high rate just to get my credit rating up again after it was trashed a few years ago, I pay for bits of food & petrol on it then repay in full. Now after a year or so when I want a better card would I be better NOT repaying in full and allowing them to make some money of me because I did read some were that if a bank doesn't make any money from you then they arnt as interested in giving you credit, so before applying for something better just allow them to make a little from me ?

I was also thinking of a cheap mobile phone contract to help aswell but would rather not as I don't use my mobile much so pay as you go suits me fine.

the direct debits I have are car insurance , virgin media , tv licence & council tax payments each month, not sure if these help in any way?

why do you want a 'better card' ; is that so you can pay lots of interest to the bank?
having a CC, using it regularly and paying in full is the best way to save money and improve your credit rating
by all means try to get a CC with some benefits (maybe cashback or points etc) but no, don't throw money away paying interest

as for DDs, in general, only use them if they save you money: some charge extra for paying monthly (typically insurance) while some save you money (typically utilities)

check your credit files and see what they show

I was thinking of something with more than £250 limit incase of what ever may crop up! and then a lower APR would be nice if I wasn't able to pay back in full, I have been looking at rewards and some do look interesting ,

I have a noodle account but its limited! and like everybody is always saying, banks don't go of the same page as what Experian ect use so that's why I was thinking of letting them make a tiny amount of money from me so they see me as a " good customer " rather than somebody they'll never make any money from.

I would wait at least 6 months and then try a card with some benefits

and of course start to build up some savings so you never pay interest only receive it.

I have been thinking this, my income and my girlfriends little income is around 27k ( after deductions ) a year with 3 kids, I guess money could be seen as one of the best magic tricks around as it just vanishes without seeing it vanish hah

I do keep a few hundred in my bank but its Christmas and I don't have that few hundred any more!

Why are you so desperate to run up more debt?

as you can see its not debt as I repay everymonth in full, I only buy things I need to buy inaway. its more about letting credit card companys " think " that they can make money from me so therefore accepting me for a better card and like I said above , I don't intend to spend on it for no reason, so im really not that desperate , its just something ive been running over in my mind

You said above you haven't properly budgeted for Christmas, so think you're kidding yourself on with this explanation.
