Sky invoice

Is it fair that we are penalised by Sky just because we don't want to pay by Direct Debit? Every month they send us an invoice for which they charge £4 which I think is a lot of money just to send out a piece of paper. What I really want to know is if I have to pay the extra £4.

Fair? Not really as I oubt it costs them £4 to process a payment manually, but it does cost more to process individual payments than it does to take direct debits, so I can see why they don't want to spread the cost around all customers.
However, if, like me, you are in a dispute running for almost 6 months about a company's inability to bill you correctly (Virgin media, not Sky though) then I think it is reasonable to ask them to waive the fee as they cannot be trusted to take the right amount.
I suppose it depends on your reason for not wanting to set up a direct debit - if it is a question of regular funding then I can't see a way round it, but if you have a genuine case for not wanting a DD because of something Sky has done, then you might stand a better chance.0 -
I cancelled my Sky on Feb, after a so called manager called me a liar, every month since I've received bills for a months veiwing plus the £4 admin charge, which I have to ring to get rid of!!!!! This costs me in phone calls and I'm getting diddly squat off them!! :mad:RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

I think it's fair.
NTL also do this. And stops OTHER customers who pay their bills on time and in full from getting penalised with hiked prices because people continually don't pay their bill.0 -
If you dont think it is fair ,cancel sky.
Next problem please!0 -

I pay Sky with a monthly credit card mandate, so no direct debit but no monthly £4 invoice either.0
