Parking ticket from TPS

I recently received a parking ticket in the car park of the college I attend from 'Total Parking Solutions'. They ticked the box which states "The vehicle did not display a valid pay and display ticket, or the ticket had expired". I spoke to the car parking attendant and they shown me a picture of my vehicle showing no ticket along with my reg and parking permit on display. I did not have a ticket on display as it must off fallen off the dash when I shut the door or something. The fine is £30 if I pay within 2 weeks, otherwise £75.
I have done some reading online of similar cases with this company and the advice seemed to be to ignore it as they would not waste their time taking me to court. The incident took place on private land owned by the college. However I know older advice maybe irrelevant due to laws changing etc
Any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated, should I just pay the £30 or is it worth me ignoring it and waiting for them to go away?
Thanks alot

first question is
have you read the sticky thread for NEWBIES by coupon-mad ?
what did that make you think or decide ?
and did you read this similar case ? https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/48277370 -

Thanks for the quick reply, yes I read the skicky and from that I would need to appeal the ticket which is not the route I would want to go down preferably or speak to the landowner to get it removed. I had not seen the other thread but gather the same sort of conclusions after reading it. Am I right in thinking the ticket I recived a 'fake PCN'?
Also when I search for my fine on the TPS website it does not show up in the system which is weird.0 -
normal procedure is appeal as the KEEPER (not the driver) to the landowner and get the ticket waived
thats the first task, then you appeal to the PPC after you get an NTK
no other contact, no admissions, nothing
I am sure that was explained in the sticky thread too
the glossary of terms in the sticky thread also explains the acronym PCN and fake-PCN
apart from appealing to the landowner, you have no choice on the rest of it, other than pay up or appeal0 -

thank you for your help, I will try to appeal to the land owner.0 -
But if that doesn't work, wait for the NTK and then appeal as keeper like everyone here does.
And by the way, all the acronyms such as 'fake PCN' are explained in the NEWBIES thread too.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
