  • True I could play that route but I know they will pull me over and try seize my van off me which I couldnt afford to loose.
Best to play the law game.
Ive been checking all the same Ldv Convoy's for sale on online and tried around 15 of the same vans as mine all with different number plate combinations all mostly 2002/03, and they are all complient!
I hope its just a coincedence ive got a speeding letter from the Metropolitan Police saying I was doing 58mph in on 50 section of the a13 motorway, the Lez letter has a picture of me on the same part of the a13 at 10:41 on Nov 30th, the speeding apparently happened the same day at 10:43.
Most likely has nothing to do with it but I cant understand why every Convoy van the same as mine all the way back to 2002 that I find online for sale is coming up complient.

No i mean when you contact them. Not drive in and rack tickets up and find they are right and its not valid.

The whole LEZ thing is a joke anyway. I could buy a 2004 Convoy that is LEZ compliant, but has a busted engine. I could then replace the engine with the 2.5 diesel from my '97 Convoy & still legally drive in/out the LEZ without issues.

OP, I would suggest taking this to appeal using the evidence you have gathered. If you can prove to them that your van is compliant, then they will have to back down.
    Never Knowingly Understood.

You should get the offer of a speed awareness course with 58 in a 50.

    I got one for 53 in a 50 and a bloke on my course was doing 62in a 50

All on the A13 aversge speed section

If you see a blue XJ doing bob on 50 wave hello. That is me.

They have reduced the amount over you are allowed dramatically

A lot get caught on the first section when it goes from 70 to 50. That is where i got caught.

If offered a course it will likely be at CEME

    Good luck with your appeal

And i wouldn't be surprised if there was some shared intel in your case

    I don't believe in coincidence

    Oh, just an aside

The LDV Convoy with a 3.5 Rover V8 and carbs is exempt

Which just goes to show how stupid the system is

You could always try and find one of the old SO19 wagons. Dark coloured builders vans with full size roof racks but with a V8. Get an lpg conversion and have a laugh in the wet!
  • check the van is not a 3.6tonne or even a 3.9tonne...
I had a old ldv 3.9tonne spec lift which had a big 3.9 V8 rover engine in and that was complient but then all petrols are which is stupid as you would of thought it would of been on emmisions..
also check the build date as mod vans would be older but only registered much later..
