I bought a B&Q Bath Shower Mixer Tap for £80 that seized up on the hot water side. Only had it fitted 10 weeks by my plumber.

Will now have to buy another Bath Shower Mixer Tap and get the plumber in to change the old one over and fit the new one. Take the old mixer back to get a refund.

But what are my rights can I get B&Q to pay for the plumber to change over the taps, this not my fault but it must be bad workmanship on the valve in the tap

Or does anyone know what I can do to ease the tap to make it work ?

PS. I have contacted B&Q about paying for the plumber I wonder what they will say :)

As you haven't told us the make or model of the tap, it is difficult for anyone here to answer that question.

Perhaps your plumber can help with that.

If you want to claim consequential losses then youll have to prove that the issue is not caused by mis-use or by improper installation.

I thought that in the first six months following purchase it is for the seller to prove that the problem is not due to an inherent fault.
I.e. the the seller needs to show that problem is due to misuse or improper installation, etc.
  • Well I have to report B&Q have contacted me regarding the problem with the sized tap and now are sending me £50 voucher for the cost of the plumber to change over the taps
Thank you there Customer Service Department :j
