wood burning stove

Options
Going green yuck.

Why should we have to put up with this?

My neighbour has recently installed a wood burning stove and now we have to put up with the smoke and smell it produces.

From a no smelling area because everyone used gas or electricity for heating to a smoky smelling place.

He is at the end of the road and the prevailing wind blows the smell and smoke up the road.

Is there any agency we can complain to?

We are in Scotland.

  • Sounds like he's burning green wood. It makes lots of smoke and smells more. It's also bad for the stove and won't generate much heat. So he needs to season his wood, or buy ready seasoned wood. Or smokeless coal.

Most of my street, myself included, use open fires or stoves and it doesn't smell. I'd sooner we all used fires than nuclear.
