Hi everyone
just a quickie.I opened a Halifax rewards current account a couple of months ago and I'm not happy with the service I've had from them.
If I leave them do I have to pay back the £100 switching bonus?
Thanks in advance for any replies

What do the T&Cs say?
If you switched your DDs and credits a few months ago, then I'd say not, but its the T&Cs that govern this.0 -
Thanks for your prompt reply Hominu. The way I read the t&cs it looks like I would have to repay the £100.They would also take it back if I didn't stick with the eligibility criteria.
I 'll just keep the account ticking over for a while and see how things go.0 -
I recently opened a Halifax account and took advantage of the £100 offer.
The whole 11 days I managed to stay with them was a debacle from beginning to end. Managed to pocket £100 joining bonus, £15 for not paying the bonus when the t's and c's said it should be paid, and £35 for mucking the application up.
Closed the account after 11 days, pocketed the cash and they haven't chased me for it yet.43580 -
Hi Hazzanet, thanks for your reply.Mine is a similar scenario with Halifax and they've even got me down as having a joint account...with MYSELF!
I think I will leave them and take my chances over the £100.If they chase me for it then it will be worth it to get rid of them.:)0 -
The chances are that you would not be chased - for the life of me I couldn't tell you which dept would follow that up and how the hell they would enforce it .0

If you have zero DD's on your "old" account, are you still eligible for the £100?
I have a spare account I don't need so was thinking of closing it but I might as well get £100 for it if I can.0 -
Hi anotheruser, If it helps I switched from a virtually unsused account without any dds on it.When the new Halifax account was up and running I just set up 2 dds manually0
