First Direct secure key app problems

Anyone else having problems with the secure key app?
I use the Android app. Yesterday it needed to download an update and it took ages. It complained I should be on a faster connection - I was on wifi next to my router with 70Mbps fibre broadband! How much faster does it need?
Once it downloaded it wouldn't generate a key - it complained of a server error.
My wife uses the iPhone app. She has had to have the password reset twice this week and has spent a long time on the phone to FD.
Is it just us?

Sounds like teething problems.
Most people have not even received the keys yet, and FD have not yet insisted on using the key to login.
Personally, mine is still OK, but I'm not using a secure key yet.0 -

This thread refers to the DIGITAL Secure Key.
Even when fully implemented a key will not be required to login. It's just that without a key one will be restricted in what one can do. When logging in on Thursday I was I was informed that my access would be restricted in 10 days time unless I used a Secure Key or a Digital Secure Key. I was then asked whether I required a physical secure key or a digital one. I ordered a physical key and was told to allow 7-10 days for delivery!0 -
i recieved my key yesterday and have registered it, must say it seems like a flimsy bit of crap, the buttons are not very responsive. To be honest it does not look like it wil last long before it breaks.
Oh and yes i did need to use the key to login to my account the first time i tried it.0 -
I'm guessing that a certain number who log in each day are presented with the message and that the 10 days countdown starts as soon as one is presented with the message. I don't think everyone is expected to be using SecureKey by the same deadline. (Others had been saying that they had seen a message and ordered a key long before I got the message)
FD doesn't seem to have chosen the best time of year to be doing this. Given the long delay before start of roll-out I would have thought that it could have waited until the New Year when the postal service will be less busy and (perhaps) more reliable.0 -

It's a bit of a misnomer. I have the hardware secure key. It has numeric digits, I press the keys with my digits - so it could be called a digital key?
The hardware keys are sent out soon after you request one. They say allow n days to cover postal delays outside their control.0
